Nuestro Fundador nos ha enseñado con el ejemplo y nos dejó escrito para los que vendrán como “Siempre debe darse preferencia al apostolado entre jóvenes, por aquello del Vaticano II: «Los jóvenes deben convertirse en los primeros e inmediatos apóstoles con los jóvenes» (Mi parroquia, p. 429)
Hace un año pudimos comenzar el grupo “Voces Verbi” en nuestra parroquia de San Bernardo, Dallas, Texas. En estos últimos 5 meses, todos los martes, nos reuníamos para recibir charlas sobre la Teología del Cuerpo, siguiendo las enseñanzas de San Juan Pablo II.
El objetivo del curso fue aprender a vivir la castidad y encontrar la vocación. El viernes pasado, fiesta de San Bernardo, 23 jóvenes realizaron su promesa de castidad hasta el matrimonio.
Para todos los parroquianos fue muy consolador ver esta clase de frutos. Pero más aún para el sacerdote que vive pensando en la santidad de las almas que Dios le encomienda. ¡Que alentador es ver almas que ponen los medios eficaces para caminar hacia el Cielo!, algunos dejaron amistades para vivir mejor su fe, otros se pusieron de novios buscando vivir bien su noviazgo, y fui testigo de otros tantos efectos de la gracia en las consulta y confesiones.
Encomiendo a sus oraciones a estos jóvenes, con grandes ideales, para que Dios los conserve así, que sean fuertes y valientes en este gran compromiso que han comenzado.

Chastity Promise
Our founder has taught us by example and left us written for those to come as «Preference should always be given to the apostolate among young people, because of Vatican II: «Young people should become the first and immediate apostles with the young» (Mi Parroquia, p. 429).
A year ago we were able to start the group «Voces Verbi» in our parish of San Bernardo, Dallas, Texas. During these past 5 months, every Tuesday, we met to receive talks on the Theology of the Body, following the teachings of St. John Paul II.
The objective of the course was to learn how to live chastity and find the vocation. Last Friday, the feast of St. Bernard, 23 young men made their promise of chastity until marriage.
For all the parishioners it was very consoling to see this kind of fruit. But even more so for the priest who lives thinking of the holiness of the souls that God entrusts to him: how encouraging it is to see souls who put effective means to walk towards Heaven, some of them left friendships to live their faith better, others became engaged to live their courtship well, and I witnessed many other effects of grace in the consultations and confessions.
I commend these young people with great ideals to your prayers, so that God may keep them strong and courageous in this great commitment they have begun.
